About Google for Startups Black Founders Fund
The Google for Startups Black Founders Fund provides non-dilutive cash awards to Black led startups that have participated in their programs or have been nominated by their partner community or a previous recipient. Selected founders receive $100,000 in capital along with Google Cloud credits and hands-on support to help their startup grow.
Why is Google Doing this?
In the U.S., less than one percent of venture capital goes to Black founders.
Over the past two years, the Google for Startups Black Founders Fund has provided $10M in cash awards and support to promising Black founders in the US.
The investments have created a halo effect by helping founders raise over $139M in additional venture capital in the US. With this momentum, Google for Startups has scaled the fund to support Black-led startups in Brazil, Africa, and Europe
Google is uniquely positioned to provide capital and support to help founders grow their businesses, and in turn, create space for founders to thrive and create greater impact for their community.
